Acer palmatum 'Pung kil' Japanese MapleAcer palmatum 'Pung Kil' Rare Pung kil Japanese Maple Zones 5 9 This Korean introduction of a Japanese maple has one of the darkest foliage of the wind swept Japanese maples. We love how these thin red strap leaves flow in the wind. In the early spring, 'Pung Kil' leafs out as a deep red, which holds fairly well throughout most of the summer. Fall colors are bright oranges to crimson reds. 'Pung kil' is a slow grower reaching about 6 7 ft in 10 years.

This is an excellent companion plant to a red Japanese maple and provides a dynamic contrast throughout the season
