Large Carved Italian Silver and Gilt Mirror c.1860A ornate, rare and unusual Italian floor standing mirror c. 1860. Featuring mythological creatures including Dragons and Phoenix hidden amongst a Garden of Eden full of foliate decoration, flora and fruits. The raw umber and sangue di bue gesso bole underlays remnants of silver and gold leaf water gilding. With completely original, perfectly fairied mercury glass. This truly is a very unusual and incredibly beautiful example. I have never seen one
